Nominator's project description
| Professor Christian Henriot from the Université de Lyon II, is one of the most renowned historians of China. He has been working within the framework of history writing and production based on textual records and textual narratives but has also attempted (and managed) to break through this framework, by using alternative methods, 'marginal' sources and using new digital technologies to produce alternative forms of historical narratives. His dedication to innovative and groundbreaking approaches to the writing of history and his abilities in initiating important database work have been particularly noted internationally. Professor Christian Henriot is hosted by Professor Barbara Mittler at the Excellence Cluster Asia and Europe in a Global Contest, University of Heidelberg. |
